Fleet Manager

About the company:

Our client is Asia Pacific's largest privately-owned logistics company with operations employing more than 24,000 people and spanning 12 countries. To continue to keep the growing demands of clients, they are looking for an exceptional Fleet Manager.

About the role:

Reporting to the President, this high calibre individual is responsible for providing the most economical and efficient fleet equipment solutions as well as developing and implementing strategies, policies and procedures in regard to fleet selection, procurement, and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the life cycle of vehicles and equipment from acquisition to disposal;

  • Fleet capital budgeting and planning for the operation

  • Design, procure and input fleet design and specification with key stakeholders

  • Maintain positive interactions with both internal and external customers to facilitate the achievement of objectives and targets for cost and productivity.

  • Set clear direction and objectives for all staff involved in Fleet and maintenance activities

  • Prepare and present fleet costings for new business, extensions of the existing business, additional fleet requests or specification changes.

Key requirements:

  • Degree or tertiary qualifications in Heavy Diesel or Engineering

  • Significant experience in Fleet Management

  • Clear understanding of OH&S standards and regulations

  • Sound understanding of technical and maintenance aspects of vehicles and equipment

  • Ability to analyse and report data trends

  • Ability to prepare reports including use of word processing and spreadsheets.

  • Ability to communicate with internal managers and external suppliers on procurement needs

  • Understanding of quality systems
