Production Manager Packaging

About the business

A leader in the manufacturing and processing of fruit-based products, this fast-growing company also provides packing, supplying both branded and private label products to key retailers, distributors and industrial users. Due to exponential growth, they are seeking a dynamic Production Manager to look after the organisation’s main filling and packing lines.

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this high-calibre individual will lead the organisation’s key production areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of production staff ensuring the production of premium quality products

  • Support all activities of the production team to improve output quality and performance

  • Ensure the development, implementation and direction of best manufacturing practices

  • Manage labour costs and budgets to ensure value and benefit to the business.

  • Ensure your department operates at peak efficiency, allowing maximum sustainable profitability, whilst maintaining all quality and safety requirements.

  • Work with the maintenance team to develop suitable maintenance plans and registers to ensure all plant and equipment in your area is maintained and in good working order at all times.

Key requirements:

  • Formal tertiary qualifications, with a minimum of 5 + years’ experience in a similar role in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage labour costs and budgets whilst nurturing a team-first culture

  • Specific expertise in maintenance, quality, health and safety in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing HACCP and GMP standards
